Wow, I haven't posted in awhile!
Been a busy bee lately. Classes are starting to give out all of there tests and papers, since it's...*gasp* almost mid-semester. Gee, how time flies. So..let's see what I've been up to shall we?
September 30th I had my TOOL concert. That was my first BIG concert. I had previously gone to see A Perfect Circle at the Providence Performing Arts Center, but this was ten times bigger. The stage set-up was really awesome, it was very plain, but with the lights and artwork they had on the short white screens were really interesting.
October 1st, my sister and I did the Alzheimers Association walk with other co-workers. It was cold and rainy, but we walked the three miles anyway, we represented team Hopkins...we couldn't take the easy way out, could we? No ;)
Unfortuantely my grandfather had died Sept. 30. I attended his wake on October 5th. I couldn't attend the funeral because that was the same day I needed to take my entrance exam for St. Joseph's Nursing School. At first the funeral was supposed to be on the Saturday, but it was changed due to availability last minute. I found out a lot of things about my grandfather, so did my aunt's. First, I didn't know he retired from the Navy after 26 years, then went to work for Polaroid. Second, he was a photographer in the navy, he also took part in the Air Force, was the president (and other titles) of a naval reserve, and before he was in the navy..he was in the army during WWI where he was picked up by a ship in New Guinea - that's apparently how he started the Navy. It's sad that I learned all of this awesome stuff, AFTER he died..I would've loved to talk to him about it :)
This Saturday I am going to the Boston Vegetarian Society Festival in Boston, and after that rushing to my Aunt Deb's photo gallery - I'm very excited to see her work!
I've been cooking a bit lately, last Friday I made another veggie chili as well as some Oatmeal Pumpkin Raisin cookies. On Monday I made some chickpea curry for supper and tonight I made myself Oriechette with tomatoes and Kalamata Tapenade. P.S. - I can't find my camera again. But take my word for it...it was good. :D
By the way, I went out to see the Illusionist last night. I thought it was a great movie, the main character comes off as a bad guy at the end thought (if you think about it). GO SEE IT!
