Running Like Crazy

Running.  I used to be on a cross-country team when I was younger. I had stopped when I had surgery on both feet - good reason.  However, I never got back into the habit of running once I was healed.  Not to say that I was a good runner to begin with, but I should never had dropped what I could do already.

Lately the urge to go running has caught up with me again. However, I don't dare run on a treadmill for fear of increased embarrassment and potential injury.  While trudging on the treadmill (hill routine, no fear of falling there), a very lean looking 'fella hopped onto the treadmill next to mine.  Of course, he began to run and I felt waves of jealousy flooding me.  I wish I could just hop on there and run like that, and for SUCH A long time, by the time I left that guy was still running - about 45 minutes later.  Not to mention, the amount of calories that you torch when you run.

So today I began reading beginner running advice and looking at some good sneakers.  I have serious under-pronation problems. My ankles are the equivalent to jell-o.  I loved my old Brook's running sneakers, they were the best.  I think if I do this, I'll have to invest in another pair - preferably the one shown! I'm hoping that spring will be coming after our lovely March snowstorm we're going through right now, that way I can get to my outdoor running quicker!

I have been thinking of running again too. I have lots of knee and ankle injuries and need a good sneaker too. I'm gonna check these out. I ran x country too in HS as well as winter and spring track...
